Farmerama claims to be the cutest game on the internet. Users can create an account and become a virtual farmer. They are given a piece of digital land to begin raising cattle, growing crops and doing other typical farm-related tasks. Users can plant orchards and try to pull in the most sizable harvest or raise the healthiest cattle. The user plants trees and crops and builds animal housing. As they level up through the game, they unlock new produce and animals that can be created on their virtual farm. Along with growing, the farmer must also manage their mill, manure pile and water tower to supply their farm. Customers will arrive at the user’s virtual farm to purchase items. A city is also available to allow users to sell or trade items to other users as well as pick up mail or make deposits at their bank. The city makes up the user’s center of commerce so they can profit from the fruits of their farm. Additional features allow users to put their farms on display to “tourists” as well as community gardens that are managed by the players.

Farmerama is a part of BigPoint. BigPoint is based in San Francisco, California. Founded in 2002, the BigPoint team includes an enormous 500 people including CEO and founder Heiko Hubertz. Chairman Simon Guild, CCO Nils Holger Henning, CFO Michael Gutsmann and Producer Julian Huehnermann also help make Farmerama and BigPoint a success. BigPoint is currently enjoying status as one of the top three gaming portals on the internet today.

Farmerama is a game that has its own rules, graphics and mechanics. Just like any other game, these aspects make it unique. Although some people may view Farmerama as something akin to Farmville, it seems to be more involved and entertaining. The graphics are eye-catching and the general game play is entertaining.
